It’s OFFICIALLY the first day of Summer and I couldn’t be more excited! It was a long and cold Winter here in Utah, so finally seeing the sun start to shine has everyone smiling. I put away all of my sweaters and boots for the season and started working on my Summer wardrobe. So far it’s including a lot of bare shoulders, like this yellow sundress, and I’m loving it. Holy long time no see! I know, I know… I’ve been a really bad blogger lately, but its for good reason. We’re working on something BIG over here and I can’t share details yet, but soon my friends! Eeeep! As you know, we traveled to Cancun, Mexico with our best friends a little bit ago and it was just what we needed! My husband and I left our little man with his favorite people (grandma and grandpa) and had the most relaxing week ever! Even though it was sooo hard leaving our little buddy, we came back so refreshed and feeling like new parents. A tiny break every now and then is SO necessary. Ever since we got back i have gotten tons of questions about our trip so I’ve rounded up my favorite outfits, places we visited, and the resort we picked so if you’re traveling there in the next little while, you’ll know just what to bring & see! WHAT. A. WEEK. I hate the fact that I’ve let some negativity on Instagram get to me today. I was feeling hurt, attacked, and misunderstood. Then, I realized that a bully trying to climb his way to the top had zero control over me, and I chose to let go of those feelings. On a positive note, it’s got me thinking a lot about my purpose with social media- specifically why I started my blog in the first place. I carved out my own piece of the internet because I didn’t feel like my body type was being represented, as well as it could be, in the fashion industry. I also wanted to see more ethnic diversity in the blogging/ influencing world. People always say to be the change they you wish to see in the world, right? So, that’s what I did. I dove head first into this sometimes crazy world and I’ve loved every second of it no matter how frustrating it gets. I’m a huge fan of doing whatever makes you feel good. If wearing a bikini makes you happy, DO IT! If getting botox or fillers makes you more confident, DO IT! If unfollowing accounts that trigger feelings of inadequacy helps you, DO IT! How cute is this set from Figur Activ?! They are an amazing new activewear company that just officially launched a few days ago. I have been so impressed with the quality of the sports bra and leggings they sent me. The bottoms are a true high-waist and cover my belly button without falling down which is HUGE in my book, and the top has a really supportive built in bra so I don’t feel like the girls are bouncing all around. Happy almost Friday guys! I know I have been a little quieter on social media and the blog the past few days, but my heart has just been so heavy in regards to the Las Vegas shooting. As I’ve been reflecting on these tragic events, the one thing that keeps coming back to my mind is how fragile life really is. We truly never know when our last day will be, so I want to spend every waking moment living my best life, and part of that is loving myself exactly how I am.
