Holy long time no see!

I know, I know… I’ve been a really bad blogger lately, but its for good reason. We’re working on something BIG over here and I can’t share details yet, but soon my friends! Eeeep!

As you know, we traveled to Cancun, Mexico with our best friends a little bit ago and it was just what we needed! My husband and I left our little man with his favorite people (grandma and grandpa) and had the most relaxing week ever! Even though it was sooo hard leaving our little buddy, we came back so refreshed and feeling like new parents. A tiny break every now and then is SO necessary.

Ever since we got back i have gotten tons of questions about our trip so I’ve rounded up my favorite outfits, places we visited, and the resort we picked so if you’re traveling there in the next little while, you’ll know just what to bring & see!

Things To Do:

My very favorite day of the trip was when we took a ferry out to Isla Mujeres! It’s a little island right off of Cancun and only took 20 minutes to get there. We rented golf carts and just explored the island. We found an amazing fruit stand and got the yummiest pineapple, visited a turtle farm, (this was actually kinda lame) saw a million HUGE iguanas, and played on the rocks by the beach. The streets were so colorful and full of life. It made for some really great photos too!

We also took the bus to downtown Cancun and went dancing at one of the night clubs. Fun fact about my husband; he LOVES to dance. I am a little more shy on the dance floor but after I get warmed up we have the best time grooving to the music. I can’t remember the name of the club we went to, but the only way I can describe it was that it looked like a Chic-fil-a inside haha! Lot’s of cow print. It was also Spring break while we were in Mexico so the nightlife was absolutely bumpin’. They played early 2000’s hip hop all night which was the best thing ever, so we just sang and danced our hearts out! It was definitely a night to remember!

Where we stayed:

We stayed at GR Solaris All Inclusive and over all I’d give it a 7 out of 10 stars. It was clean, and the staff was friendly but the food was just meh. We stayed at the Paradisus Resort in Cancun when we went for our honeymoon, and that was AMAZING. Literally 10/10 stars. So if you’re looking to splurge a little more, I’d definitely recommend the latter.

Where to Eat:

Since we did an all inclusive resort, so we mostly ate on the property, but after a few days we were craving something else so we did the most American thing we could and found a Chilis haha! But let me just tell you, eating chips and queso on the beach with a margarita in hand was basically heaven on earth. We also ate at Outback steak house where they accidentally charged us $1,500 US dollar instead of pesos for our meal!!!!! Luckily they caught it before we left the restaurant because that would have been one pricey steak dinner! We also stopped at a McDonalds so the boys could get a burger. Ya know, just sticking to what we’re used to haha.

There you have it! I hope this was fun and helpful for those traveling south sometime soon. We absolutely love Mexico and can’t wait to go back again someday. As always, let me know if you have any questions that I didn’t answer in this post. I love connecting with you guys and helping in any way I can.

xx
