I honestly can’t believe it’s taken me over TWO years of blogging to finally write this post! I guess up until recently, I’ve never been 100% confident in my knowledge and ability to actually apply it. But after LOT’S of YouTube videos, tips from friends, and experimenting with different brands/products, I’m finally ready to share. My routine has actually changed a lot in the past 6 months and I’m feeling so good about it. Below I’ve linked my exact products, how & when I apply them. Let me know if you have any questions!

#1- PRIMER: Neutrogena Healthy Skin. I really don’t know how I ever lived without it. Dramatic? Yes, but rightfully so! If you want your makeup to look flawless, you have to start with the right canvas. I just use my hands and rub it all over my face. I started using this primer over the summer and have loved it. The SPF makes me feel good about protecting my skin and the price really can’t be beat!

#2- Concealer: Two Faced Born This Way. If you have blemishes, dark circles or acne scarring, finding a good concealer is key. Let me tell you, I’ve tried my fair share of them and I can honestly tell you this brand and formula is my favorite. I only put it on the areas I want to cover, and it works wonders. It also doubles as a highlighter, but I’ll go over that later. Shade- Warm Beige

#3- Foundation: Estee Lauder Double Wear. The holy freaking grail of makeup products. This foundation goes on flawlessly. It’s also full coverage but doesn’t look of feel cakey which is pretty rare in my opinion. I’ve been using it for a couple months and am loving it. Shade- Maple Sugar

#4- Highlighter: Back to Born This Way! Like I mentioned before, the concealer I use also doubles as a highlighter. I put it under my eyes, in the middle of my forehead and a tiny drop on my chin. Then I go in with my damp beauty blender and bounce it into my face. With whatever is left on the blender, I put on the tip of my nose. Shade- Warm Beige

#5- Eyeshadow: I only apply eyeshadow sometimes. Like maybe once a week haha but that’s mostly because I’m still learning how to apply it! So far I am loving my Tarte Palette. These Amazon brushes are a super affordable option for people just starting out (like me). One of my beauty guru friends recommend them to me and they’re awesome.

#6- Eyeliner: I recently made the switch to Kat Von D’s Tattoo eyeliner and I totally get the hype. It looks so good! I will say it took me some time to get good at applying it as any mistake shows. You low-key need surgeon hands for this stuff. Once you get the hang of it tho, it’s awesome. Color- Trooper Black

#7- Mascara: Nars Climax. Another product I’ve been using for just a couple months but am hooked. I already re-purchased it! I do have pretty naturally long lashes, so I was mostly looking for something to add thickness. What I was using for YEARS before is the Lash Stiletto from Maybelline. This is an awesome drugstore option! Color: Black

#8- Brows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade. Although I do have microblading, (highly recommend) I like my brows to be more dramatic, especially for photos. So I go in and outline the shape first, then lightly fill in making sure brush them a bunch. I’ll also link the brush I use for my brows because its fantastic. Color- Dark Brown

#9- Setting the highlight: I like to give my highlight plenty of time to dry which is why I do my eyes and brows first before I go back and set it. I use mostly the lighter colors in my Lorac palette to set with, but I also use the Anastasia Beverly hills contour palette as well because the light color has some shimmer to it. This might surprise you but most days I DO NOT contour my face. The reason for that is because the acne scarring on my cheeks is so bad that when I put contour powder on them, it makes them stand out even more. Does that make sense? I also like to think that since I’m naturally dark skinned, only highlighting works better for me. Anastasia Beverly Hills shade- Medium to Tan

#10- Blush: After YEARS and years of using Nars blush, I made the switch to the Sephora brand because I honestly just didn’t feel like spending that much again. If you are feeling like a splurge, the Nars blush lasted me 4 years and is AMAZING. If you’re like me and looking for a more affordable option, the Sephora brand has been awesome! Colors: Nars- Orgasm | Sephora Collection- Passionate

#11- Highlight Powder: Becca! Love love love this stuff. A little goes a long way and adds the prettiest touch of shimmer. I apply it to my cheek bones and under my eyebrows. Mine has lasted me almost 5 years and I still have lots of products left! Shade: Champagne Pop

#12- Setting spray: Urban Decay All Nighter. Another product I don’t know how I ever lived without. I can definitely tell the days I forget to set my makeup because it doesn’t last as long, and I get greasy super fast. 10/10 would recommend!

And there you have it! I am in no way a professional, but I think playing with makeup is just so fun! I’m excited to keep learning and expanding me knowledge of all things makeup! Some of the best tutorials I’ve followed have been from Sephora, Jaclyn Hill, and Tanner Mann (@tannermmann on Insta). As always, let me know if you have any questions.

xx
